The Opportunity

As one of the countrys leading and preferred defence partners, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) develops and sustains leading edge technologies for some of Australias largest and most complex defence projects.

BDA is undergoing significant growth and is looking for a passionate Materials and Processes Engineer with experience in Materials and Processes Compliance to join our team. We are seeking technical professionals interested in working collaboratively across an interdisciplinary and multinational team on cutting edge systems, and assure the safety, environmental compliance and suitability of materials and processes applied to the Australian Wedgetail fleet.

This role would equally suit a senior systems engineer with a mechanical and/or materials engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent oversight and assure compliance of materials and processes applied to the aircraft

  • Analyse and assess new materials and processes being proposed in design changes to ensure they meet program, regulatory, and contractual requirements

  • Manage and maintain hazardous materials and flammability compliance reports

  • Develop processes and plans to manage and control compliance of components introduced onto the aircraft

  • Provide specialist technical advice, training, and guidance across multi-disciplinary teams and forums

  • Experience/Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills that enable you to influence outcomes in a team environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience in a complex project environment would also be considered highly desirable
