What are we looking for?

In this role, as the SEO Content Writer is responsible for the development and management of comprehensive SEO friendly content across and .

The role will develop a strong understanding of the business and branding requirements to ensure content written is aligned to Kmart’s brand requirements. The use keyword research tools and best practice approach to SEO optimised content should be used to develop SEO content based on trends and themes that resonates with our customers.

This highly collaboratively role will require exceptional stakeholder management across cross functional teams within the business. The SEO content writer also supports the Performance Marketing team in maximising the performance power of Paid and Organic Search. As an expert in SEO content writing , they will also provide SEO optimised content guidance to both online and marketing teams and works very closely with agencies to drive greater online performance

Ongoing creation, development and edit of engaging, SEO-optimised content for our customers on and is required. Based on understanding of the objectives of the business and the latest trends in SEO write content that is both engaging to the visitor and optimised for search engine.

Other key responsibilities include

  • Review current SEO content framework on and to develop a sustainable SEO content plan to amplify current content and to innovate future content creations.
  • Responsible for development of SEO optimised content on and kmart.com.nz to maximise our content performance to ensure higher page ranks and searchability.
  • Analyse content traffic, SEO metrics and the effectiveness of campaigns and messaging (through well-defined KPIs) to explore ways of improving content marketing ROI.
  • Through your deep understanding of SEO content marketing, a continuous program to improvement our overall digital marketing efforts from keyword research, campaign planning, overseeing quality content, content distribution, and analysis is expected to be delivered.

  • Participate in stakeholder meetings in order to increase understanding SEO from a content perspective
  • Project manage not only writing of content but also review, upload and testing of content on the site
  • Stay on top of SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and new tools to create cutting-edge strategies.
  • Provide an SEO review of content developed by other teams in the organisation
  • Potentially manage external copywriters to ensure compliance with business and SEO requirements as well as deadlines.
  • Help form and support the execution of the SEO content strategy including development of SEO copy briefs.
  • At least 8 years of SEO copywriting experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Social Media content writin
  • Extensive experience with SEO content strategy and copywriting and the partnership role it plays across paid search, on-page and off -page SEO and overall content performance to drive commercial success.
