Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7000). The Carol Ave campus services our Year 7-9 and our Year 10 – 12 students are located on the Albert Street campus. 66% of our college students identify as Aboriginal.
We continue to create strong connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG and external agencies.
Our campuses are located within the centre of Moree which also hosts outstanding recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts and shopping facilities. You can travel daily by air and train to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Sydney and by bus to Brisbane. This position also offers attractive additional incentives under the Rural Teacher Incentives program and we welcome early career and experienced teachers to apply.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Industrial Technology-Metal & Industrial Technology-Timber.
Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to faculty programs and resources.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
Conditions
The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000 (Conditions Apply).
A relocation support package of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
